We are pleased to share two new scores for our Spanish producers from Wine Enthusiast. These two great results are now available and published in the August/September issue of the magazine, and online at winemag.com

Perelada’s Touch of Rose Brut 2020 has been awarded 90 points, and GR-174 2021 from Casa del Gran Siurana has been given 92 points. Both wines were tasted and scored by Mike DeSimone.

With their impressive new winery up and running, we are pleased to share with you a redesign from Perelada for their award-winning Perelada 5 Finques.

On the completion of its new winery, Perelada has taken the decision to update the image of its wines, to reflect the greater synergy between new, state-of-the-art winery and the wines it produces. The winery will allow Perelada to make even better wines, and their image moving forward, must reflect this.

We are thrilled to be able to bring you the 2023 harvest report from Marisco Vineyards, with words from Brent Marris:

“What a superb vintage it has been….we had the lovely heat and warmth during the day and the brisk chilly nights Marlborough is so renowned for. Our vineyards loved it as it elevated fruit flavour and extended our growing season.

Our harvest team slipped into a great rhythm constantly picking tonnages which kept the wineries processing at a steady pace. The harvest team was happy to be busy with such well-balanced fruit making for easier processing.

Solid tonnage and some of the cleanest fruit I have seen in years - the viticultural team certainly delivered in 2023. Highlights for me were the wonderfully piercing electric flavours from our Waihopai Valley Sauvignon Blanc fruit, ripe pear drop Pinot Gris characters, and Pinot Noir that looks as dark in colour and as floral as I have ever seen.

With the winemaking well underway, the consumer is in for a real treat when they taste the pure fruit drive and energy we have captured in the wines of vintage 2023!”
