We are thrilled to share the news that Viñalba has been given an outstanding 95 points for its 2024 Malbec.

 Awarded by the prestigious Decanter World Wine Awards, Viñalba Malbec was also credited with a Value medal, given to wines which offer great value for money.

As we celebrate World Malbec Day, we will be raising a glass to the team at Fabre Montmayou for achieving some great new scores from James Suckling.

Three of these latest results illustrate what a fantastic variety Malbec is, including Fabre Montmayou Grand Vin which is eighty five percent of this mighty grape.

For our fourth and final instalment from Descorchados 2025, we bring you three new scores for Viñalba.

The Descorchados Guide is today one of the most relevant wine publications in South America. It's edited by the most renowned Chilean wine writer Patricio Tapia, who first published Descorchados in 1999 in Chile with the intention of portraying the energy of change that was brewing in the neighbouring country, in terms of new grape varieties, new areas and new interpretations. Currently, the wine tasting has expanded its horizons to cover the most important wines from Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay, the four key wine producing countries in South America.
