Shortlisted for International Wine Challenge Red Winemaker of the Year

We are delighted for our Argentine friends Bodegas Fabre who have once again been shortlisted for the International Wine Challenge Red Winemaker of the Year.

Their extremely talented owner and winemaker Hervé Joyaux Fabre was crowned Red Winemaker of the Year by the IWC last year, but to be nominated again for this prestigious title is an outstanding achievement.

Hervé is the talent behind our Fabre Montmayou and Viñalba wines and his ethos is to make wines which express the “terroir” of Argentina and the fruit from which they are made. Hervé is originally from Bordeaux but moved to Argentina in the early 1990’s where he bought 15 hectares of old Malbec vines planted in 1908. With wineries in Mendoza and Patagonia Hervé was one of the first foreigners to recognise the potential of Malbec as a single varietal and he has won international critical acclaim for his wines.

We wish him all the best of luck when the results are announced in July!
